Art

Dragots are awarded for contributing art or literature to the group. Members are expected to calculate Dragots on their own and post them above the artist’s comments for the admin to see. A rubric has been made available for quick and easy computation. The admin is known to double-check calculations, so please be honest when tallying Dragots. Once approved, the amount collected will appear in the Bank Roster. In the case of collaborations, please divide the Dragots accordingly. Should there be any cause for concern, don’t hesitate to address the issue via group note.

Literature

Submitted literary works and role-play transcripts secure 10 EXP per 250 words (Total Word Count ÷ 250 x 10). Literary works are eligible to receive an event bonus and feature if word counts surpass 500+ words. Role-plays should be devoid of all OOC commentary. RP experience will be divided equally amongst peers unless individual word counts are provided through either a note or artist’s comment. All literature may be submitted via a gallery or sent privately by way of a group note including information regarding participants, calculations and a link to the logged roleplay.

Activities

As to break up the monotony of art vs. role-play, every now and again Mount Greylock will offer activities to which members work individually and collaboratively to achieve a goal. Activities are to be presented in various forms including but not limited to RP Matchers, Art Exchanges, Games, Etc. Suggestions of activities by members are encouraged!

Worldbuilding

While Ilvermorny is a small slice of a larger pie, known as the Harry Potter Universe, much of its history and lore is mainly non-existent and open to interpretation. This is where Mount Greylock asks interested members to step in and participate in constructing the North American school’s history, geography, and ecology. Worldbuilding will act as a long-term monumental task. Worldbuilding tasks will be run regularly in conjunction with storylines.

Member-Led Clubs

Clubs are formed by members interested in creating and running school-based organizations. Club Presidents and Vice Presidents host their own role-play events and activities separate from mod-led events. Entry into these groups is at the discretion of the club owner(s) rather than group administration. While most extracurricular activities are free to join, please approach the listed contact(s) on the official website if you're interested in membership to member-led clubs! If you're interested in establishing a club of your own, please get into contact with the Mount Greylock admin.

Syllabus & Bulletin

The Syllabus is your guide to educational courses. Generally, it will include course policies, rules and regulations, required texts, and a schedule of assignments. Members are rewarded once assignments are completed either by literary (RPs included) or artistic means.

The Student Bulletin will consist of member-created tasks. Does your student need help to locate their lost potions homework or perhaps they need to borrow an owl to dispatch an urgent family letter? The Student Bulletin is at your disposal!

Prompts, Sessions & Events

A Plot-Related Prompt is given outside of events and is either group-based or tailored to a single character. Meanwhile, Events consist of two categories Sessions and Real-Time Events.

A Session is comprised of a group of characters devoted to pushing the plot during a particular point in the narrative. For example, during the Founders' Day Ball, Helena, Claire, Jack, and Eliot were instrumental in driving the plot forward. Rather than focus on specific characters during a Real-Time Event, where everyone participates but doesn't receive equal attention, these types of scenarios are now delegated to Sessions.

Real-Time Events are exactly are as they sound, live-events. They occur in large groups and involve all willing participants. These events center on tackling substantial issues and overcoming obstacles as a team. No one person will serve as the focus, and as a result, roleplays are faster and well-timed.

Due in part to the restructuring of events, this will require that all plot-related roleplays be public. It will ensure that the community has full access to the story as it unfolds.

Monthly Prompts

For anyone who desires a creative boost, this monthly prompt invites members to experiment and play with ideas in a low-stress, fun, and creative way. The open-ended prompts will consist of a single-word theme that may be interpreted as the artist sees fit! Single-word themes may be suggested by members in the Discord Suggestion Channel at any time. These suggestions will then be compiled into a document to be randomly selected each month. Monthly art & literary prompts may only be submitted once per month and is eligible for a bonus.
